Donna Galgano, RN, CRNP
Donna Galgano is the Nurse Practitioner for Long Island Breast Care. She received her undergraduate nursing degree from the State University at Binghamton. She completed a Master's Degree in Health Education from Adelphi University as well as a second Master's Degree in Nursing with certification as an Adult Health Nurse Practitioner.
Ms. Galgano was the Director of Breast Cancer Patient Education for the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System for eight years. During this time she developed a comprehensive, multidisciplinary education program called "Living With Breast Cancer" for patients newly diagnosed with breast cancer and their families which ran for over six years.
She is certified by the State of New York as a Adult Health Nurse Practitioner. She is an active member of numerous professional societies including the New York State Nurse Practitioner Association, the Oncology Nursing Society and the American Society of Breast Disease.
At Long Island Breast Care, she assists the physicians with all aspects of the patient's care including well breast examinations, postoperative care and specialty procedures. She also serves as a Patient Navigator for those women newly diagnosed with breast cancer providing guidance, referrals and educational counseling.
